I asked for editing for 1/2 of my book so I could get input before finishing it. Good thing I did as there were some significant change and spacing that needed to be addressed. I’m going to put those in place and perhaps get another read on it before finishing the rest. I’d hate to get to the end and have to rewrite the entire thing. Nancy had great suggestions to be sure. How to order:
- Purchase enough packages for your word count. Each package covers 750 words, so if your project is 1200 words, it requires two packages within the level of editing you choose. Once you've selected your level of editing (basic, standard, or premium), hit the green "continue" button; on the next page, you will be able to select multiple quantities (at the top middle, you will see "Qty" with a drop-down menu).
- Attach a Word doc. I'll deliver a track changes version and a final clean copy.
I particularly enjoy large projects, but no job is too small. Send me a message...I can always type you up a custom offer based on your needs.
I am happy to simply proofread (catch errors), but if your project requires more of an in-depth edit, be sure to select the premium service.

Do you outsource work?
Never! I complete and deliver every order I receive.
Do you use grammar-correcting software, such as Grammarly?
Never. I am a professional editor and have trained and worked in this field for over ten years. (However, I do use spell check at the very end to catch any extra character spaces I may have missed!)
What is the difference between proofreading and in-depth editing?
Proofreading involves catching errors. The in-depth editing service includes this, plus improving readability (a sentence may be technically correct, but it sounds awkward--I will fix these with the in-depth service). I will also offer suggestions for overall improvement when necessary.
Can I upload my document as a .pages file?
My computer cannot open .pages. Word files are best (.doc or .docx), but I can also open .odt files.
Do you ever edit in Google docs?
Sure. You will need to make your document public, so I can gain access. You will also need to turn on the editing feature, so it will track my changes, allowing you to see what I do to improve your document.
What is your typical turnaround time?
It depends. Smaller projects (under 1K words) are usually returned within 2 days. Larger ones depend on the length. A 100K word proofreading project will typically take me 4 weeks. Be sure to message me for a custom order if you have a set deadline. I am flexible and can usually accommodate.

Can I upload multiple files?
Please upload one file per gig. If you have multiple files, please purchase a separate gig for each one (it is far too time-consuming to handle multiple files on my end).
Do you offer formatting? Will you make my reference section adhere to a certain style guide?
I am happy to edit your text, but I do not offer any formatting services. I also do not edit reference sections (I will fix any typos in there, but I don't make sure it adheres to a certain style format).
Will my work be publish-ready when you are done with it?
That depends on how clean it is when I receive it (sentence structure, grammar, etc.)! Many times yes, but some documents require a lot of work and possibly a couple rounds of editing.
